Parrot Security OS (or ParrotSec) is a GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian. It was developed for Penetration Testing (computer security), Vulnerability and Mitigation Assessment, Computer Forensics and Anonymous Surfing. It was created by the Italian Frozenbox Group.
ParrotSec or Parrot Security OS offers many tools for analyzing web content and computer systems. It is a laboratory for Forensics digital use, with legally recognized tools that work with cryptography, offering a lot of possibilities. In addition, it allows you to surf and work anonymously.
Το Parrot 3.8 βασίζεται για πρώτη φορά στη δοκιμαστική διανομή του Debian GNU/Linux 10 “Buster”, και χρησιμοποιεί τα Debian Testing repositories. με ένα προσαρμοσμένο για περισσότερη ασφάλεια linux 4.x.x Kernel. Η διανομή είναι rolling release.
H νέα έκδοση ονομάζεται CyberSloop και έρχεται με ενημερωμένο Linux Kernel στην έκδοση 4.11.
The desktop environment is MATE, a fork of Gnome 2, and the default display manager is LightDM.
Το πρόγραμμα είναι πιστοποιημένο να τρέξει σε συστήματα που έχουν τουλάχιστον 265Mb RAM και είναι κατάλληλο τόσο για 32bit (i386) όσο και για 64bit (amd64).
Διαθέτει και μια ειδική έκδοση που λειτουργεί σε παλιά μηχανήματα 32bit (486). Επιπλέον, το πρόγραμμα είναι διαθέσιμο για armel και armhf αρχιτεκτονικές. Διαθέτει ακόμη μια έκδοση (32bit και 64bit) που αναπτύχθηκε για διακομιστές για να πραγματοποιεί Cloud pentesting.
