That's what one company is proving with its huge augmented reality windows, which allow you to experience augmented reality without wearing a headset or activating a special app.

They are called DeepFrame and they are huge curves screens, that create life-size projections that appear as if they are included in the world around you.

Created by Danish company RealFiction, the screens are surprisingly simple. Each consists of a 64-inch piece of clear glass made with specially designed optical systems that are able to reflect an image projected from a normal screen, such as a TV.

In addition to the fact that it can relay content from a TV, RealFiction shows how DeepFrame could be used as a futuristic telepresence tool. A camera installation in an adjacent room can allow you to chat with a life-size projection of another person.

And for good reason, as the screens are not cheap. The starting price for a DeepFrame starts at around $50,000, according to the company.

However, Dyrholm says its technology could be used in smaller devices such as tablets and phones, which would pave the way for more consumer-tailored applications.
